Newman - Crows Landing Unified School District Community,
I am excited to introduce myself as your next Superintendent. I bring over 20 years’ experience in education serving diverse learners across both the elementary and secondary levels. After graduating from Orestimba High School and completing my bachelor’s degree in mathematics from CSU Chico, I earned my master’s degree in educational administration from National University. I began my career in education with the Manteca Unified School District then I came back home to teach math at Yolo Middle School and Orestimba High School. I then spent 5 years as a math teacher in Nevada where I received Teacher of the Year. After 9 years of teaching Mathematics, I transitioned to administration. During my 20-year career as an administrator for the Newman- Crows Landing Unified School District. I have administrative experience at all levels; elementary, middle school, alternative education, high school and district office.
When it comes to education, I believe that every student has the capacity for wonder, creativity and critical thinking and deserves the opportunity to excel to their highest potential. I know that it takes everyone working together to raise a child which is why I also believe in working collaboratively together with parents, community, staff and students to ensure individual student success. My leadership philosophy is based on communication, transparency and building trust. It is my goal to inspire lifelong learners and empower leaders to do great things for kids. Together, we can make a difference.
I would like to thank the Board of Trustees for the privilege to serve the students and families of the Newman - Crows Landing Unified School District. I look forward to a long and productive collaboration together in service to each and every one of our students. I am humbled by the opportunity to be working with the wonderful staff, administrators and teachers in the district and look forward to getting to know everyone in the months ahead. I can't wait to listen and learn from you as we begin our work together.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be a member of the Newman - Crows Landing Unified School District. I look forward to diving in deeper to explore the strengths of our schools and our community as well as the aspirations you have for what we can become. Please know that as an Orestimba Alumnus, parent, and community member, having an opportunity to be your partner in your child’s education is very personal to me. I look forward to the work we will do together.
Justin Pruett, NCLUSD Superintendent
