Von Renner Elementary

Some of our Von Renner Bugs will be on display at Modesto’s Great Valley Museum’s Bug Talk and display starting this week.

Our students who had perfect attendance during the month of August earned a Kona Ice. This was organized and provided by the Child Welfare and Attendance office from our District.

These are our STAR ticket winners for the week of September 11-15th. Our students can earn STAR tickets for showing good behavior, being kind, or showing good character traits. We have a weekly drawing at our Friday assembly. These are the students whose tickets were drawn. Way to go Cougars. Keep making good choices.

Today was Fluffy’s birthday. She turned 9. She returned to school today to meet her new classmates and celebrate her birthday!

I would like to introduce Carlos the Cougar. Our PTO purchased a new mascot for our school. The kids came up with and vote on names for him. The winning name was Carlos the Cougar. We look forward to seeing Carlos on Campus at special events.

We had our first Friday Assembly of the year. Our new Cougar Mascot came out to say hi and ask the kids to help give it a name. Each class will come up with a name, then we will have a school wide vote.

It was so nice to welcome our families back to school today!

We had a great turn out at our Welcome Back to School event at OHS. It was nice to see our students and their families again.

Our first grade students had a fun water day. They got to play Duck, Duck, Goose water version, bubbles, Corn Hole, Musical Chairs, and they got to squirt each other with science syringes.

Our 5th graders had a promotion this morning. They each received a certificate of completion. We will miss them, enjoy Middle School!

The third grade soccer tournament has ended and the top three teams received their medals today. Congratulations!!

We also said goodbye to some of our Von Renner Family at our assembly and wished them well. Mrs. Arteaga is leaving to be the Principal at Hunt, Mr. Eddy moved to Yolo, Brittney will be at Bonita and Alt Ed next year, and Sra. Miranda will be teaching closer to home. We will miss each and every one of you and wish you well on your new adventures! Thank you for all you have done for Von Renner.

Today we had our last Friday Assembly of the year. We chose 10 TK-2 students & 10 3-5 grade students who have shown kindness.

The 4th and 5th graders also participated in the basketball throw, hockey, scooter races, jump roping, soccer kick, the softball throw, javelin, high jump, 50 & 100 yard dashes. What a great way to wrap up this years Olympics.
